A loose denture rarely announces itself. It creeps up — a little more adhesive, a little less steak, a hand over your mouth when you laugh. By the time most folks call us, they have been managing it quietly for years. You do not have to keep doing that, and you do not have to jump straight to the biggest fix either. There are four steps on this ladder, and plenty of people are happy staying on the second one.
Simplest to sturdiest
The Four Fixes, In Order
1. Adhesive
Adhesive is a stopgap, and there is no shame in using it. It buys grip for a meal or an afternoon, but it does not change the shape of your jaw or the fit of the denture. If you have gone from a dab to a whole tube, the denture — not the glue — is the problem.
2. A reline
Your jawbone slowly changes shape after teeth are gone, so a denture that fit beautifully a few years ago sits loose today. A reline rebuilds the inside surface of the denture to match your gums as they are now. It is the simplest real fix, it often makes a big difference, and it is usually where we start.
3. A snap-in denture
A snap-in (implant-retained) denture clips onto two to four implants per arch. It stays put while you eat and talk, then unclips at night for cleaning. Most people notice the biggest change on the lower arch, where a plain denture has the least to hold onto. The small nylon inserts that grip the implants get swapped periodically, and that is normal maintenance.
4. Fixed implant teeth
A full arch of teeth fastened to four to six implants stays in your mouth around the clock — only we remove it, at maintenance visits. You clean around it like natural teeth, it does not cover the roof of your mouth, and it handles the widest range of foods. It is the biggest commitment of the four, and we will say plainly if your case does not call for it.

Why did my denture get loose in the first place?
Once teeth are gone, the bone that held them slowly shrinks, and the gums change with it. Your denture stayed the same shape while your mouth did not. That is why relines exist, and why implants — which stimulate bone the way roots do — hold a denture steadier over the long run.
Will a reline be enough, or do I need implants?
Sometimes a reline is genuinely enough, especially on an upper denture with good ridge shape. A lower denture that has never felt secure usually needs something to hold onto. We look at your ridges, your bite, and a 3D scan, then tell you honestly which step on the ladder fits you.
Can my current denture be converted to a snap-in?
Often, yes. If your existing denture is in good shape and fits reasonably well, we can sometimes add the attachments that clip onto implants rather than making a whole new denture. If it is worn out or ill-fitting, we will tell you that a new one will serve you better.
Is financing available for a snap-in or fixed option?
Yes. Financing is available through Cherry, Happen Bank, CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit, Proceed Finance, Covered Care, and HFD, with terms set by the lender. You get a written plan at the consultation and we walk through it line by line before you decide anything.
